OpenAI announced that GPT-5.5 will retire from ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex across consumer, Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans on October 14.

Announcement dated September 14; added after discovering a continuing upcoming retirement missing from the initial selection. Retirement remains planned, not completed. The OpenAI API is unaffected. Review defaults, saved model settings, custom agents, and scheduled tasks that select GPT-5.5, and choose an available replacement.
